Haiku Gardens sits in the lush windward valley of Kaneohe, on the opposite side of the Ko'olau Range from Honolulu — which means the light, the air, and the landscape feel completely different from anything on the resort coast. The property centers on a traditional koi pond surrounded by tropical plantings, bamboo groves, and mature trees whose canopy creates soft, green-filtered light throughout the day. The Ko'olau peaks rise dramatically in the background, providing a mountain backdrop that no beach venue in Hawaii can replicate. For garden ceremony photography, it is among the most genuinely beautiful locations on the island.
Moana Surfrider: The First Lady of Waikiki
Opened in 1901 as Waikiki's first luxury hotel, the Moana Surfrider carries more history per square foot than any other property on the beach. The hotel's Colonial Revival architecture — white colonnades, wide verandas, and the famous century-old banyan tree in the Banyan Court — provides a visual vocabulary that feels simultaneously tropical and grand. The Banyan Court is an iconic outdoor space and a distinctive visual feature of the property, but it is not used for wedding receptions. Most weddings are held at the Diamond Head Lawn & Terrace or in the Ballroom; the Beach House, Garden Rooftop & Terrace, and the Veranda provide additional event settings.
